Passport and Visa Requirements
– Everything You Need to Know!

When planning a short visit as a tourist, for business, or for family visits, it is essential that your passport remains valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date.
Don’t forget that depending on your travel purpose, you may also need a visa, which should be applied for well in advance.
Always check the embassy website of your destination country for current requirements!
For longer stays, such as when applying for a residence permit, it is important that your passport’s validity exceeds the planned period of stay.
For example, if you request a three-year residence permit, your passport should be valid for at least three and a half years.
This is because if your passport’s validity is less than the requested period of stay (e.g., only 2 years), the authorities will only issue the residence permit up to the validity of your passport (2 years) . Therefore, it is crucial that your passport has sufficient validity.

Additionally, if you participate in the Hungarian ten-year residence program (for more details please contact me via Whatsapp +3670850 9996), the validity of your passport does not affect the validity of the permit, as it is independently valid for ten years. Also, ensure that your passport is in good condition!
A damaged passport with unreadable information will not be accepted by the authorities, and this could even result in being sent back to your home country.
A valid and undamaged passport is the first step towards smooth entry.
